For Moms and Caregivers

Maddie’s Place is designed to feel just like a cozy home. We are a secure facility with individual, private rooms for you and your baby to recover. You both are our primary focus, and all of our staff are here to support you and help you care for your baby. There are many ways to comfort and care for your baby that can help you bond and help your baby through the first difficult weeks. Not only are we located close to local hospitals, but we also have medical staff on site at all times and are prepared for any medical emergencies that may arise during your stay at Maddie’s Place.

Yes! We want you to stay with your baby! If you are sober or have just gone to detox and are clearly committed to parenting, you can stay at our facility. Each of our baby rooms can accommodate one parent 24/7. Mom or dad can stay, but not both together. Whether you are struggling with sobriety, or have a partner, family, or friends wanting to visit, we have a space onsite for you to connect with your baby and/or your loved ones. We want to support you as you learn your baby’s rhythms and enjoy the very beginnings of a precious relationship.

Yes! We are an approved placement option and our staff has extensive experience and relationships with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) in our region. Not every family is involved with CPS, but if you are, we can help you navigate this experience, stay organized and engaged, and help you gain the confidence and support to be on the right path when you leave us.

Our families stay for an average of 60 days, until your baby has been medically cleared for discharge. We are passionate about you and your baby connecting and feeling ready to face the world together. This will look different for each family, and we want to be sensitive to each unique situation and work with you to make sure they you and your baby have a safe place to discharge to.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide accommodations on site for your other children. But, they are welcome to visit and we can connect you with community resources that can help if this proves a barrier.

Our Family Advocacy Team will work very hard while you are with us to connect you with the resources you need to thrive when you leave our facility. Since we first opened our doors, we have worked hard to build communities of hope– or, in other words, cultivate a supportive village of peers who have come through our program for the purpose of encouragement and fun in recovery. We are here for you and want to stay connected! Our goal is to maintain relationships with all of our families and remain a trusted source of love and support. If you need a break, we can offer respite care for babies up to 12 months old. If you need help moving into a new apartment or juggling CPS and treatment, we are a phone call away. If you are struggling with sobriety, we are here to walk you through it. We have seen that the families who stay connected, tend to be the most successful, and we would encourage you to stay involved with our community!
