We often say that we are “building the plane while flying it.” This has proved true over the last few months as our team has shifted and molded to adapt to the various needs of the organization.
We are pleased to share these staffing updates with you:
Dr. Jeffrey Schilt has assumed the position of Medical Director at Maddie’s Place effective May 1, 2025. Jeff is the owner of Mt. Spokane Pediatrics, which has over 18,000 pediatric patients and a deep bench of providers who will provide essential backup for Jeff here at Maddie’s Place.
Virginia Meyers transitioned from her role as a contractor to a Maddie’s Place staff member as of May 1, 2025. Virginia has worked with us as our bookkeeper since before we officially opened. We are thrilled to have her step into the role of finance manager.
Shannon Davis (previously the staff scheduler) has transitioned to serve as our new care and resource coordinator on the family advocacy team. In this new position, she’ll be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the continuity of care for our babies. She’ll also be managing the development of resources for our parents and overseeing things like WIC, ESIT, and PIPS, all vital, frequently utilized services in our line of work.
Melody Neal joined the Maddie’s Place team in April as our part-time volunteer coordinator. With a strong background in education and nonprofit development, Melody has jumped in head-first, reaching out to volunteers, creating new training, policies, procedures, and scheduling our volunteers for shifts. Her presence at Maddie’s Place comes at a vital time as we have so many wonderful individuals desiring to aid us in our mission. We are so grateful for the hard work she has been putting in so far.
Mackenzie Adams (formerly a night shift ICS) and Karrie Pangburn (formerly on the family advocacy team) are now our nursery supervisors. Headed by Clinical Care Coordinator Danielle Harris, this team manages nursery life as well as our infant care specialists. They have already streamlined growth, supporting our infant care specialists and ensuring operations run smoothly.
Jackson Branham (formerly the executive assistant) assumed the new role of facilities manager on May 1st . He will be responsible for keeping our building in top shape, ensuring our home remains operational and our grounds tidy.
Tyler Scharff (formerly our evening facilities/security) will be transitioning to day shift as our executive assistant. He will be keeping the office running efficiently, providing backup facilities support to Jackson, and answering the door and phone calls.
Karli Schouten (one of our ICS) has come on as our new social media coordinator. This position came to life when our communications and social media manager, Emma Jones, announced that she will be going to Bible college in the fall. So, while Emma works part time from out of state, Karli will be our boots on the ground, taking pictures, filming content, and helping spread the word.
We have hired ICS preceptors to train up new ICS. We have brought new nurses and ICS to the team. All these changes are put in place to set up Maddie’s Place for success as we continue building communities of hope.
Congratulations to all of these individuals on their new roles!
